Sarah Ayton and Saskia Clark boosted in their London 2012 preparations with their first major win since teaming up at the start of the year.

They dominated in the 470 class in the ISAF World Cup regatta in Kiel.

Double Olympic gold medallist Ayton and experienced 470 sailor Clark joined forces after the Yngling class was dropped from the Olympic schedule.

The British pair had to be patient, with light winds seeing two full days of racing cancelled in Germany.

The final round of the World Cup series, the Skandia Sail for Gold event, takes place at the 2012 venue in Weymouth from the 9 to 14 August.

Fellow British sailor Helena Lucas also had a strong week in Germany, picking up a silver medal in the closely fought 2.4m class.
