I have just finished ‘Emergency‘ by Neil Strauss. A great story of one man’s escape from this dangerous world. It’s witty, to the point and some of the reasons for his journey to investigate this whole area are pretty prophetic in hindsight. Look at what has happened to the economy, the terrorism encountered in the ‘West’ and the problems with mankind’s ever increasing desire to rape the world of its natural resurces.
In the book you’ll join him on his journey from investigating and eventually attaining a passport in a country outside the US. You’ll feel his guilt when he has to slaughter his pet goat. You’ll endure the pain of the survivalist courses he went on and emerge the other side feeling that this journey has truly changed him.
One of the funniest aspects to his story is the girlfriend Katie who is so mismatched with him on one level, but on another he discovers that they are actually pretty similar. It’s very funny and at times he had me laughing out loud.
From a practical perspective you’ll be taught how to open a padlock with a beer can, light a fire on a coke can, escape from handcuffs and duct tape and things even as bizarre as the dangers and benefits of getting certain nationalities pregnant.
It would make great reading on any passage. Buy it!
